Hey, i ve a question here :)
I just bought an HTPC, specs are the following

E5200 @ 3.0 Ghz (Yeah, i OC the HTCP :p)
2x1GB DDR2 800 Supertalent
Sapphire 4670
Asus P5N73-AM (610i Chipset, GForce 7050 onboard)

I just finished installing everything... watched a couple movies and all looked good
But as for games and 3d stuff in general im getting really shitty FPS... i know this aint the greatest card but 720p is a modest resolution to be pushing

I think i fucked up when i installed the drivers... i did as follow
Install Win XP Pro
Put Asus Driver CD > Click InstAll (Chipset + Audio Drivers)
Download 8.11 > Install
Inst random shit =)

My guess is that having onboard Nvidia video (and installing chipset drivers might have installed Nvidia display drivers) is fucking up my performance

Note: on bios, i always checked use PCIE for video
 
4670 is slightly slower than a 3870 according to the specs. Only 320 stream processors vs 800 on the 4830+

320 stream processors is what the 3850 and 3870 have.

750Mhz core clock vs 777Mhz core clock on a 3870

The 4670 also only has a 128-bit memory bus vs 256-bit on the 3870.
 
What games are being played here and what kind of FPS are you getting? Having subpar performance can be subjective, some people find 30FPS to be playable while others need 60FPS average.

Also, have you tried setting the CPU clocks back to stock and see the problem persists? Sometimes an unstable OC can cause poor framerates.

I have a 4670 myself here and it's able to run everything out there with the exception of Crysis at 30 FPS average. And that's with a slower CPU (X2 5000+).

Best part of this writeup is that he describes the files to be removed in a manual removal. If those files aren't there, then that isn't the problem.
