Need to power a GTS250 inside of an Antec ISK300...

...you now know the problem.

I've searched for a Silverstone ST45 *everywhere*, but can't find one. Any other options anyone can think of here?

I need to be able to cram this inside of the case, even if it requires some modding to get the job done. From what I gather, I'm gonna need 20A on the 12V rail to run the card reliably.

I'm using an ECS H55H-I, i3-530, a laptop HDD, and a slim DVD.

Help! :confused:
 
Yeah 20A sounds about right. A little bit of leeway there.

Wait which ISK 300? the 65 or 150 model?

The 150. It has an 80mm fan for the stock PSU, which I figure makes modding in a larger unit a bit easier since ventilation is already in place.

My goal for this is to put 10lbs of sh** in a 1lbs bag, while keeping everything looking nice and clean from the exterior.
 
Well, one plan would be to use the following to power just the video card:
$50 - PW-200-M 200W Pico PSU
$62 - 150W AC Universal Adapter 12V 12.5A (Search for it or scroll all the down till you see it)
$10 - Dual PSU 24-Pin Adapter Cable

Total: $117 plus tax and shipping.

Hook up the dual PSU adapter to the included Antec 150W PSU and the above PicoPSU. This way, both PSUs will be started at the same time when you press the power button. Oh and pick up a molex to PCI-E adapter as well.

Secondary plan and the more elegant but hardest route would be to find a 300W flexATX PSU with 20A on the +12V rail. The ISK 300-150 actually uses a flex ATX PSU.
 
Yeah, I'm trying to keep it as elegant as possible. Daisy-chaining PSUs makes me nervous... especially considering there's no guarantee it's going to work like I want it to, and having to face returning a handful of items (or not being able to) is something I don't wanna chance.

I planned on going the SFX route as there's enough clearance to make it work, and I can't find *anything* with enough amps in a flex format. I looked at 1U briefly before realizing they're just too long.

Also trying to avoid Athena units, and other off-brands, as I read nothing but nightmare stories of puffs of smoke, and trashed hardware.
 
Well Google Search saves the day:

$50 - Enhance FLEX-0130B 300W FlexATX Computer Power Supply

It's an Enhance PSU so it should be of good quality. In addition, it has enough amperage on the +12V rail for your entire setup. And look! It's $67 cheaper than my first and very crazy plan. Since it's just a simple PSU swapout, the system should still be elegant. Just get that PSU along with a molex to PCI-E adapter and you should be set.

16A on the 12V rail. You sure that'll handle everything under full load?
