1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mostly working with MS Office, CS5 After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. I will be gaming when I get the chance though. I don't need SLI, just one beefy card should suffice.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
800 USD 1,000 at the most
3) Where do you live?
Indiana
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU - I'm wanting to go with AMD. The price is right, but I don't know how well AMD gets along with Adobe?
RAM - I'm thinking 8 gigs should be fine?
Motherboard - Need a new one.
PSU - Need a new one.
Case - I'm considering the Bench Dragon from myopenpc. I like the idea of being able to clean off my pc without having to open it up. .
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Video - I have an 8800GTX I can use now, but I don't know if I should upgrade or not? I'm happy with the performance on my current rig and it would most likely perform better with my new setup.
Sound - Creative X-fi Fatality
HDD - Happy with my hard drives.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, just because it's fun.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
Currently using a 24 inch 1080p I-Inc. Would like to upgrade to dual monitors.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
May or June.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
I would prefer to go with a board that works well with a Nvidia GPU. I'm not sure about all the features I need. I definitely want USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, I'm using Win7 Unltimate 64bit student version.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
