Stuck between 2 cases

Here's what I think, the cooler master looks a little more durable, but the silverstone looks better designed, removable mobo tray, cool features, looks classy. Here's my main conser with the silverstone, since it has no faceplate how are your cd drives going to look in it, can you even adapt the little alluminum covers so that it blends in with the case. The cooler master has a faceplate, cost less, I did see one at the store and the edge was a little sharp, I would go to compusa and see one in person, they are both nice cases but unless you can get the silverstone to keep a lower profile I would get the cooler master. Make sure they have enough clearance some of the newer graph card are growing dimentionally aka 8800gtx. Good luck.
 
Personally im not a fan of that particular stacker. So between the two I would go for the TJ 09. Good luck.
 
That stacker is a plastic POS, even with all those fans it won't cool as well as the TJ09. Don't go CM unless you're buying a budget case or one of their older designs.
 
if your going to spend that kind of bling why don't you take a look at the lian li

The top part is painted plastic, and so is the base. The bezel surrounding the 5.25 bays are plastic as well. It's crappy because even with 9 fans and huge mesh areas it doesn't perform as well as cases with 3. Also, it's on the ugly side.
 
I like them both, but the Silverstone TJ-09 better. I like its cleaner look and "minimal use of rivets". Installing/replacing larger than normal psu's will be a snap compared to the Stacker and the TJ-09 has no door.

It seems to me that the design of the Stacker 830 is less sofisticated than the TJ-09.

The stacker is not worth the money. Like previous posters said the quality of the stacker 830 is lacking. Go with the Silverstone.... it is all aluminum, thick, rigid, and durable. Sure, Cooler Master used to be up there with the best of them, but their qulaity is not what it used to be. Another vote for the Silverstone.
 
ok, thanks, that better explains thing and helps toward my decision. i was originally leaning toward the tj09 even though it would end up being about 25-30 bucks more. If I spend this much money on a case, I want it to be top notch quality and be able to last me a long long time. I'm getting older and will be out of college in a few years and I am getting out of the stage where alien looking cases are cool and a more classic looking is more appealing. I think i will go for the tj09. By the way, has anyone happen to see the tj09 with window any cheaper than what I found it for? The one I posted came out to be like $290 something after shipping
 
Personally, I would go with a Lian Li v1200, or even v2000. If the TJ09 was more competively priced though, the decision would be much harder.
 
I wife would give a hard of enough time buying a case this expensive, so since the stacker 830 is a little cheaper by about $50, what are some good things justifiable to get this case? Why would it be a case that I can keep for a long time at that price? Will it be future proof for a long time? Will it be durable enough or built well enough to last over the years? And one more thing, does the stacker 830 come with castor wheels that can be put on?

Basically to all your questions it's no. There is no justification to spend so much on any case, the mentality "we do it because we can" is pretty much the only justification :D


If you are looking from an investment point of view, then grab a P180B when it's on sale again at $75 and you will be a happy camper... you can sell it years down the road for only a few bucks less and with a much lesser loss than a 830 or TJ09... and you'd make the wife happy.
 
I dunno, I like my CM Stacker 830 just fine. Yeah, it was expensive, but it cools very nicely, looks good (IMO), is huge and therefore has tons of room, has the very convenient mobo tray, thing you can clip in to add more fans (or remove if you don't need it), etc. Hell, I was thinking of buying myself a black one and giving my silver one to my son... ;)
 
Personally, even though I like the TJ09 I would go for a TJ07. If you are going to spend that much money on a case then get the TJ07. I have one and it is amazing. Cooling, form, and function are all there. The Tj07 has more bays then the TJ09 is bigger and better in my opinion. But if you are hell bent on one of those cases I would go with the TJ09.
