Strange question regarding load times...

Hi, I recently built a new machine, and while every game I throw at it runs excellent, I cannot seem to get windows to boot any faster (It actually boots slightly slower than my 2700+ machine)

Game load times are excellent, a slight improvement, but considering the huge jump I made going from a 150GB IDE drive with an 8meg cache, 1gig of ram, and an amd 2700+

to a q6600 system with 4 gig, a 250GB SATA drive @ 3.0GBPS, I feel like somethings missing. games only seem to load 2-3 seconds faster (TF2 still takes about 30 seconds or more)

Any ideas?

Do you mean from power on until Windows desktop starts or the time taken from starting to load Windows until you have control of the desktop, or something different?

Are you asking how to make Windows load faster or how to speed up the system checks before Windows loading starts?
Is Windows actual loading time any longer?

Well, I just figured with superior hardware it would load faster.

When I press power to usable with my AMD 2700+ its 33 seconds

When I do the same on my Q6600 system it takes 55 seconds about.

It seems you are here to moan and are not after any help.

Also is this both in XP or Vista? One in XP and one in Vista?

it depends on how many programs you are loading during start up and the speed of your hard drive. If youu got a raptor the boot time would decrease slightly or if you had iRAm the start time would be the fastest.
