Recently, I bought a new Dell XPS (Delta manufactured) 1kW PSU off eBay for the rock-bottom price of $65. It arrived, and I now see it is the strangest power supply ever.
Just take a look at the cables, especially the power plug in...also it has 24 pin, then a second 20 pin, but no 8 pin. Just for convenience, it features TWO molex connectors!
Then, just to leave me more confused, it has this wierd 6 pin connector that is 3 inches from the PSU. WTF?
Can anybody help me identify and link me to some 8 pin converter cables? Also, is there any way to splice open 6 pin PCI-E cables, since I have 4 of those and only need one lol.
Here's the system I'll have it hooked up to:
Xeon 3220
P5E
2gb PC8500 Tracer Ballistix
Seagate 500gb SATA2 32mb
8800gts G92
Swiftech MCP655 pump
1 DVD-RW drive
So as you can see, this isn't very power consuming, but I am thinking about buying a 320 or 400 watt peltier off eBay to add to the water cooling loop on the CPU. With two molex connections, you can see how that might be a problem...
