I dont know if this is the right topic but i just found this handy website http://tinymail.me you just enter your email address and it will give you a short url to use on websites instead of your actual email address, when someone clicks on the link they have to do a captcha before they can see your email.
 
Cool, but I just gave up a long time ago. I have my personal email which I give out only to reputable sources, a junk email I use for things like craigslist and such, and 10 minute email for the rest.

I effing hate spam, it's ridiculous how much I get on my older email addresses.
 
I just use gmail and works suprisingly well for filtering spam.
 
Or just don't post your e-mail on forums for the harvesting spiders to munch on. If you need to post it...seems quicker to me to simply spell it out instead of posting it in standard format.

wouldn't most spambots search for keywords such as hotmail?
 
They are generally coded to look for and "harvest" the convention e-mail patterns...example... joe@cool.net

Same goes for websites....company websites that have the "Contact" page with direct e-mails...if you right click a name and see the "mailto:joe@cool.net"....they're doomed. Tis why the better website designers "encode" the e-mail links on contact sections, so there is no "mailto:" direct link, but usually a javascript.
