Still no 7870's?

it could impact pricing on the 7870. I doubt it though.

The 7950 and 7970 will receive some price drops for sure. If Amd lowers the price on the 7970 and the 7950 close to the 7870 price, then it would make sense for them to drop the price on the 7870's and 7850's as well.

Anyways, unlike last generation of video cards i am certainly not buying a video card until the market is settled, because of price drops. Also kinda waiting on a offical 7XXX series graphics driver, before i make the plunge. Based on the reviews 680 overtakes the 7970. Still not enough performance in a single card solution to power 3x1080p. Which is why i am going with two 7870's.

Depends how many people out there like me. Really depends how well its going to sell.

I was ready to purchase a 7870 day one. But with slow release on amazon, my preferred place to buy, and seeing initial gtx 680 performance and pricing, i'm now thinking of paying up for the 680 or just waiting to get a 680 for $450. 7870 really seems priced $50 too much now.

early adopters never get their moneys worth in my opinion. buying a generation down like a gtx580 refurbished for 359 or a 570 at 229 is a way better bang for your buck. 500 is just too much money to be spending on a computer part, thats insane in my opinion.

Yeah man, where are people getting the money to buy these cards? I have a hard time talking myself into buying even one, but two?!?!!? [H] readers must be of the higher socioeconomic cohort.

with the current pricing @ 250,350,450,550 when they drop the 79's to 400/500 to match nvidia, they'll need to also lower the 350 or they make that line irrelevant, so yeah I can see it affect these prices aswell.
