If you hate souls games you will hate this. Demoing the game doesn't really give you an idea of how absolutely insane it is.
 
Ok this is definitely one of the best games I have played all year. This one is very similar to Jedi Survivor and I am really enjoying it a lot. Highly recommended. It isn’t a souls game when playing in story mode and isn’t made by assholes. Everything is designed to improve your satisfaction without being a complete disaster like From Software games. If you liked Jedi Survivor this is a must play game. Also gets the award for best butt in a video game. 👀

I’m not surprised by this. At least half of my favourite PC games of the past three years have been Sony titles.
 
I am shocked there isn't enough discussion about this game. Just hit chapter 7 after trying to do a ton of sides and also trying to level up Eve. Game is gorgeous, fluid, new powers are absolutely amazing, and playing dress up barbie with Eve is not bad as well lol. However, for me the combat is where it really shines. Getting EVE a bit OP is so much fun. Trying to hunt down upgrades is also totally worth it. I love a game where you are a bad ass. Can't believe this will probably flop hard as no one seems to be playing it and some nonsensical controversy might have led people away from this game.

If you have 60 or 70 bucks and a PS5, go ahead and play this one. Also not sure why this thread is not in the console forum?

that depends on your definition of "enough" ;)
half the convo was in the get woke or sjw vs threads....
game was originally supposed to be on pc and console, then it was dropped to ps5 only.

During the initial reveal of the game there was talk of a PC version. Sony later stepped in as publisher and made it an exclusive. The devs have talked about potentially doing a PC release in the future.

I’m probably going to wait on a sale to pick up the game. It looks really fun, but I have multiple other games I’m working through so I don’t see a point in dropping full price on it when I’m not going to get to it for a while. For a good discount I’ll toss it into my backlog.

The "controversy" probably boosted sales numbers for the game. It reportedly sold a million copies the day it launched. Shift Up just gives the vague "over a million copies" sold line as recently as June, though.
 
Wait why is this in the PC gaming subforum? So far there wasn't even a rumor about a PC release AFAIK.
 
A million copies seems pretty decent in the overcrowded space. All I know is that I am having a blast.
Just running around deserts and wastelands finding collectibles and crap and doing side missions. Game is sufficiently vast and I really like the approach similar to Jedi Survivor. Each location is like a planet in Jedi Survivor. Upgrades are really fun as well. And gameplay is sublime. So glad I picked this up as I was really weary of all the soulsbourne commentary. Story and lore is pretty rich as well and I see that there are talks about a sequel. That would be amazing as well.

I'm sure it will. With Sony putting first party games on PC and this being a South Korean game, I am sure it will come to PC. I don't think Koreans buy consoles much at all, especially not Japanese ones. And it is an Unreal Engine game, so it should be easy to port. I think it is a matter of when rather than if.

Just imagine the mods that could be made.
Sony is probably going to take the time to lock it up so those mods won't happen.
 
8/10 for me

Amazing combat, great graphics and performance, copious amounts of bobs and vagene.

Downsides being:

- Two open world sections which are nearly the same exact biome (dirt vs sand). For such a graphically beautiful game this is a real letdown.

- The same 5 minute pop song repeats in the open world sections which becomes grating after the 100th time you've heard it loop. You can easily spend 10+ hours in those open world sections. So imagine some 5 minute pop song looping that whole entire time. I'm pretty sure they use similar techniques to torture prisoners in real life.

- It's a bit on the easy side. Hard mode should be available from the get-go. The problem is that beta skills instantly cancel any enemy attack animations in progress. So if you see the enemy winding up for a fatal blow, just use a beta skill to cancel it.

- Forced walking when locked onto an enemy. There's absolutely no reason to walk when locked onto an enemy.

- Outfits which turn your feet into hooves.

- Ponytail is permanent, even when it makes no sense with a majority of the available hairstyles. At some point you unlock a teddy bear mascot costume and even with that, you have a ponytail sticking out the back of it. Whyyyy.

- Story pales in comparison to its closest rival: Nier Automata.
 
There is a trail for the game up on PSN if you're a higher tier PS+ subscriber. I'm definitely going to check it out this weekend sometime.
