couldn't you just have your brother/friend/roommate/dad/wife make their own steam account and have them download the game and play it where you left off on your own account?

steam should just bring back the damn DEMOS like they had in the 90s.

50% of games sold on steam are digital crap

If I was steam, I'd be HAPPY to get the shit off my website...it clutters the place up so that high quality games get lost in the mix

NEXT!

Yeah

A lot of stuff is just turned out to make a quick buck thus crap games the good stuff stems from Kickstarter projects usually where there is motivation to make a good game.
There is a lot of good stuff on Steam too lots of hidden gems but the problem is who has the time to stare at 100s of bad games in their library. This is the reason games like Call of Duty bring in the big wigs and make a name for themselves until you can't find a game on P2P client matchmaking. Lots more of Junky games are soon to follow on steam which has been
the new Marvel Comics = Steam todays younger generation trying to break into the gaming industry through Steam.

STEAM is just a marketplace. Demos are a publisher decision. They cost considerable time and resources to create a separate build, and often were farmed out, which in turn led to demos being buggy and sometimes creating a bad impression on a game that wasn't necessarily so. Whole host of reasons that publishers and developers have stopped doing them - apparently mostly because they didn't necessarily increase sales.

Demo take time to develop. Would we be happy to have our games release 2 month later than now?

I'm going to ask for a refund on a game that I never played and never will. Witcher 2 is the game and I'm never going to play it because I thought that Witcher 1 was a bag of shite, for high school boys ( ohhhh I'm going to bag as many chicks as I can ), with a crappy rhythm game for combat. I bought the game in: 11/26/2012

I want to see how far Steam's goodwill will stretch.

I'm having a blast reading steam reviews by people who returned games !!!!

thank you steam for providing me with extra entertainment value

bought borderlands prequel on sale but considering the reviews i dont think i'll like it. I'll probably play a little bit of it but depending on what else comes on sale I'll probably return it. I think I want to purchase the steam controller so I only have 8 dollars left to spend until i return the prequel and purchase ark instead.

I got a refund for Grim Dawn, which I bought ~2 weeks ago but played roughly 5 hours. Money is already on my CC. Oddly enough I refunded Ark within an hour and didn't even play it but that's still pending on my CC. Should probably go away tomorrow. My clan mate got a refund for killing floor 2 and he bought that over a month ago, 3-4 hours played. So refunds are pretty good right now.

Just submitted a refund for age of wonders 3 and golden realms expansion..bought it 2 months ago, and played 4 hours...didn't like it (thats why I thought 2 hours was a rough demo time because ALOT of strategy games take a few hours to just figure out if people like it)

if the refund policy is pretty liberal now, I'm guessing there's some hidden 'grandfather' clause in there for legal reasons...I'm guessing 6 months because when you pull up past purchases, it list the last 6 months of purchases and makes it pretty easy to get a refund for those

thing is, refunds bought from steam wallet go back to steam wallet so its not like the money is being taken away from steam...they damn well know I'm gonna buy another game with it...I suspect credit card purchases may be a bit 'tougher' to get a refund for...just guessing

we'll see

If they don't allow it, seriously man, don't sell yourself short on this game. TW2 (and TW3) are a lot different than TW1. Particularly in terms of combat. Both games play much smoother, and world well with a controller if thats your thing. The whole click timing thing in TW1 I hated, but the next two games are some of my favorite games ever made.

Just got notified they have accepted my refund request...now, I wait up to 7 days to actually have funds put back into steam wallet

well played steam, well played..what was that, a couple hours...impressive

I'll give it a shot, since I don't have much choice.

What the heck, the payment for ARK is still pending. It's been almost 2 weeks now....

I requested a refund for ARMA 3 I thought the combat would be more like battlefield.
I'm sure the game is good if you have the time it's hard to top Planetside 2 once you get a glimpse of big world battles.

that was quick and I'm Happy =) My problem with Arma 3 wasn't the graphics gameplay is slow I'm more of a Team Death Match person playing BF3 on Norshara Canals.
Getting killed with cheap shots from a sniper isn't fun unless the map is small.

You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to make missions and play them. Or download other people's missions. The PvP aspect sucks and essentially relies on a bunch of crappy mods. But that isn't what the game is.

Nice deal for you. 2 months and 4 hours of gametime and still got a refund? geez

I bought Sniper Elite 3 in Feb and have 29 minutes on my account and 1 minute on my wife's account. I can't play multiplayer on either of our computers because it crashes at the menu. Same thing happens with my friend and his wife. I just got an email denying my refund request. I get that I am outside of their refund rules, but I thought maybe a completely broke game would be an exception.

Got the actual Refund 5 days later it said it 7 days not going to buy ARMA again =)
The gamma in the game just overtook my desktop gamma that is a big no in my book if that game can't even do that right I'm like whatever. I'm sure it a good game hell everyone plays it on steam just don't have the time.

Looking to pick up either

Doom 4

Vermintide

Torment Tides of Numenera
