Stardock Impulse?!

You did buy SofSE, right? ...right?

Yes, I bought it. Why are you questioning if I did or not? I even went and installed Impulse yesterday but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Installing Impulse for me was like a forced anal inspection by customs. I suppose you all think that's ok too?

If you don't care, then why the heck are you posting?

Obviously you care or you wouldn't be trying to convince people you're right.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm just expressing my opinion and like to rock the boat. If we all agreed on everything and were copacetic with each other it would be a boring world indeed.

Couldn't you have chosen a much more tame analogy? Something like showing an associate your reciept on the way out of a chain store?

You're posting is making this whole situation seem like a tragedy and I feel bad when I laugh at tragedies... Most of the time...

panties...in wad...you...yes...remove.

No stores where I live do that. They only ask to see the receipt if they forget to remove the security device and the alarm goes off when leaving the store. I don't think they even have the legal right to ask for your receipt in Canada for no good reason.

Then say that.

Don't make up crap about it being DRM when it's not.

You might be surprised at how many people would agree with you that having to install impulse for updates is annoying as hell. However, instead of agreeing with you about that (and I do), we're jumping on you because of your outlandish claims that it's a form of DRM.

In short, you're failing to make your point.

People didn't seem to mind Stardock Central so much. Ancient as it was, it tended to just work. But it had to be replaced, and early versions of Impulse were not so good, especially if you were updating stuff that was originally installed through SDC. It does seem to be much better recently though.

Just like Steam took a while to catch on, Impulse just needs some time to mature.

Also since patches aren't required by a game company, I don't think there's anything wrong with registering to get them. Least you can do for the work they did.

Because it's not like a forced anal inspection. Installing Impulse is quick and not bloated at all. So it's easier to imagine someone who pirated a DRM-free game to come in here complaining about how he cannot patch the game because "Impulse is a PITA."

I even went and installed Impulse yesterday but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Ahh.. so it wasn't so hard now was it? :)

Installing Impulse for me was like a forced anal inspection by customs. I suppose you all think that's ok too?

Only if you're a terrorist. ;)
