Stalker Clear Sky Complete

Removing the AA does help a lot. Thanks for the tip. :)

This game is damned demanding, maxed out, with this mod though (even without the mod it's demanding). But ho-lee does it ever look good. I like the buildings in this game for some reason. They just look very real to me.

Trying to follow which mod is for SoC. Is complete 2012 the same as complete 2009 just a new name? I never got too far along with SoC and much was due to the shoddy graphics. I assume your site will tell me how to download and install this mod but I can not check from work. Can't wait to load STALKER back up. It was very immersive and will be more so with better graphics. I think I got to the area after the train yard warehouse. So, not very far I don't think.

I also don't understand why the modding community can make games look so much better than the developers and its basically in their spare time????

As much as I have tried, I could never get into the STALKER series...too much dialogue...& I just waste my money:(

There is a LOT of dialogue, but it's not what I would term "critical" dialogue. IOW, you can read it or not, but it really doesn't affect what you have to do in most cases. Since entire dialogue instances appear instantly onscreen, I usually just skim through the text and hit the [next] button to get to the following section. If there's another bit of long-windedness forthcoming, I just rinse and repeat. And when I'm really bored, I just fast-click through everything until I get to the meat of the interaction.

Hi, artistpavel. I applied the 1.1.2 patch, but unfortunately the problem persists. I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. It's the first mission in the game and, knowing my luck, it's something particular to me. I do know that, when I don't kill all the critters and I make a run for the tower, the blowout does happen (like it should) and I get transported back to the Clear Sky base of operations. So, I'll just delete the current game and start from scratch to ensure that I'm beginning from a clean state.

I just ordered Clear Sky as it cost peanuts from Amazon UK. Looking forward to playing it, is there any compelling reason not to install Complete for the first run through? (actually I suspect I will only play this one through once)

I have finally got around to installing and trying out Clear Sky, and there is not nearly as much to report about it as there was for SOC. I expect to play it through once with the Complete mod and that will be that. The install order is quite simple:
1. Install Clear Sky
2. Install the official 1.5.10 patch
3. Install Clear Sky Complete

Referring to my SOC thread, here, I found that the shadow glitches are still the same as in SOC, and fixing them is also the same as SOC, by going to the user.ltx file and making these changes:
r2_sun_near 20
r2_sun_near_border 1
(Increase sun_near_border to 1.1 or 1.2 or more as needed for extremely wide displays.)

I experienced a bit of the sun shadow problem, so I fiddled with those settings in the user.ltx, and made it look really bad (which looks like this), but fortunately I found the correct settings in this thread:
r2_sun_depth_far_bias -0.00002
r2_sun_depth_far_scale 1.
r2_sun_depth_near_bias 0.00001
r2_sun_depth_near_scale 1.
That thread also includes a full user.ltx of some really extreme graphics settings which made my poor GTX 275 crawl on its lips - you could probably use it with a GTX 485 or two.

Now that I have Win7 instead of WinXP, using the DX10 settings was new to me. I had to turn off Vsync in game and force Vsync on in the Nvidia Control Panel to make Vsync work (had unbearable tearing without it). I had to sacrifice some other settings to use 2xAA and the Antialias A-tested objects for DX 10.0 (my GTX 275 doesn't have DX10.1).

Play it with the Complete mod, because it fixes bugs not fixed by the official patches.

it bugged the main quest line when i got to limansk. before that i had zero problems

I'm confused about stalker complete 2012. Is 2012 just 2009 version 1.44 or is it an upcoming release? The download page for it only has 2009 v1.44 to download.

Hey, the STALKER Complete 2009 v1.44 is the current version, 2012 is the planned update, however the best parts are already in 1.44, the screenshots on the front page were made using the current version: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-complete-2009

Hi there, many thanks for your great work on these mods. I have two questions:

1) Is there a way to get rid of the realistic weapons mod and will this mean i have to start again or keep my current save game?
2) What are the differences between the 2009 mod and the planned 2012 update?

Thanks :)

1) you would have to reinstall the mod without add-on, your save files should work
2) whatever good parts from Clear Sky and CoP Complete would make it to 2012 just to unify the series and make it more awesome:)

Digging up an old thread it seems, what an amazing mod this is. Incredible. It's improved the gameplay immensely.

believe it or not i enjoyed the first stalker game but i couldnt get myself to play the other ones, they were rather disappointing

How should I expect it to run on an i7 930 + 1GB 4870? AA and AAA aren't too terribly important to me, but I'll be playing on an HDTV.

I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. during my freshman year of college but quickly got so busy that I just forgot about it. It's been sitting in my steam account ever since. I'd like to try to play it again this winter break.
