Hi all,

Just saw the Silverstone ST75F pop up on sundialmicro.com, was wondering if anyone had seen any reviews yet. JonnyGuru mentioned it in one of his posts, and I'm hoping he could review it for us soon *hint hint*.

Thanks =)

The 'F is a modular with a 120mm.
The 'ZF is not modular, with an 80mm.

Well, I'd placed an order for the ST60F. Ordering it through sundialmicro.com for $142. They as well as other places have the ST75F listed at $209. Based on the specs, the efficiency seems to have improved as well as the use of a different fan dropping the noise levels from 24 dB to 22. I'm not sure if the extra power justifies the 47% increase in my PSU budget, but I am liking the drop in noise as well as some future proofing with the support for 4x 6pin PCIe connectors.

But then my last PSU purchase was the Ultra X when it came out at $99, so what do I know? ;) So, JonnyGuru, if you're going to be testing this soon, please let me know so I'll cancel my order and wait for your results before deciding =P

The Enhance unit the ST60F is based on is only a hundred at ewiz.com. link

It Does come with a few less cables than the silverstone though.

Well, I just changed my order this morning to the ST75F. I hope the ST60F short cable kit will be compatible - no reason it shouldn't be, as the connections look the same. I'll let you guys know if they work.

Cables from the ST60F short cable kit do work on the ST75F. System's up and running now but I'm not really the kind to play with oscilloscopes, so I guess we'll have to wait for the GURU to take an in depth look at it =) All I can tell you is that it's fairly quiet.

Thanks, good to know the short cables work with the ST75F. I sent Silverstone a couple of emails asking that if they would work but they never did respond. My ST75F and PP03 short cable set should arrive tommorrow and then I'll try to squeeze it into my Silverstone Sugo(SG01) case, hope I can get it to fit without too much modding.

It's a little larger than your standard PSU btw, so it might be a tight fit.

I have two of the ST60F supplies in my PC and after I added the Zalman (fan-less) water cooling for the CPU and my Crossfire video cards I noticed that the two ST60F supplies get very loud under load. Was wondering if one ST75F would be quieter as I’ve read that they both use the same fan but that the ST75F is supposed to run cooler and not need to ramp up the fan as high. Also having one power supply instead of two should help. I’m also thinking about the ZM600-HP which is supposed to be very quite.

They're the same supply, so the same quietness. I was talking about your ST60Fs.

Oh well yes but I was asking about the ST75F and the ZM600-HP.

I just ordered both today to see which I like best as one of the ST60F supplies I have is too loud.

so replace the fan in it. Not hard to open a psu and replace the fan. That's a lot of money wasted, imo.

I hear you but: I don’t know which fan it is, where I can get a replacement, if there is a pin connector inside the power supply, if I'll kill myself or the power supply and or if it is louder because of load or because of the fan. I just thought that since both of the newer power supplies are supposed to be quieter in general than the ST60F I’d get one of each and see. It should not be that hard to sell the other ones.

I have one on my rig and its fantastic... all the voltages are what they're supposed to be and I've had it run with the specs below for Omegatron PLUS 8 more HDDs I had lying about in various machines just to see how it fared... and it didn't even flinch voltages were all perfect.:D:D

you're in luck the silverstone modular psu is the only 1 that has a short cable kit available for it (aside from custom cables from pcp&p)
you can buy the kit here

all I can say is GodSend... I just asked about this in a thread the other day... it just happens to be MY PSU.... amazing

EDIT: oh carp... they don't send to australia...

in addition to that.. the local resellers for silverstone refuse to special order me in one..
