Speaker Issue?

Ok, I got a new comp (a Dell) about 2 weeks back, and everything seems to be running fine, but, lately I've been noticing a slight scratching noise coming from my center (monitor-mounted) speakers. I have the dell 5.1 surround sound speaker setup and I'm not getting this sound from any of the satelite speakers or the sub-woofer, just the centra control speakers on my monitor.

It happens sporadically (although with increasing frequency) and lasts a couple of seconds.... making a quiet "ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch" sound, usually when I'm not even playing any audio files, so I don't know what the deal is. My device manager hasn't detected any problems with any of my hardware...

Does this sound like a serious problem (something I should call Dell about, since it's still under warranty) or is this maybe just a feedback issue or something?

Do you have a cell phone? And is it close to the speakers? If so, that could very easily be causing the problem. Let's just say when I'm at my computer at home or work I can usually tell when a call is coming in a second or two before the phone actually starts ringing. Depending on where the cell phone is in my car, it will sometimes go through the stereo in my car.
