Space Game

How is X3, both games (ReUnion and Terran Conflict) I never played either and they look neat.
 
I wouldn't call that a space game though, its just a shooter that takes place in a space station. In the same way that Doom 3 is. Am I wrong on that? I haven't played dead space.
 
X3 is one step away from MMO for the simple fact of how HUGE it is, its not just big, its HUGE. You can spend a whole day playing it and not even realize it.

The graphics are good, the voice acting and some scenes could be made to be better, the game can immerse you, but it starts out slow.

my biggest gripe with the X series has been teh lack of the cockpit..

they have this great space sim but something as simple as just having the sense of being int he ship is lost..

i understand they have lots of ships and lots of whatnot..

its the same reason i don't like Eve that much..
 
X3: Reunion is a very good game, but I still kinda like X2: The Threat more than X3.

Agreed
Forget the X3 story and download some mods off their forums to make it free roam as the story was dull IMHO.

X3 also can bring the fastest computers to their knees. But in terms of content, size and playability, there is no space game that can hold a candle to X3.

The big problem with X3 is its learning curve. It is a space sim for people who eat and breath space sims, mabe by people who live space sims for people who die for space sims.
 
i play eve.

X3 has a really funny review on youtube done by G4 tv (i think). just search X3 on youtube, shouldnt be too hard to find.

the thing that will be hard is all the koch (sp?) you will have to encouter that will suppoesdly leave you feeling "terribly unsatisfied" even though you will be 'completely surrounded by terribly hard koch' on a regular basis.
 
theres no newer space games that hold a candle to the classics. get freespace 1/2 if you havn't already.

i'd give eternal silence a shot though, very very good and very overlooked mod for HL2. its like capture the base with classes and fighter ships. unfortunately not many play it though.
 
suprised no one said sins of a solar empire thats an awsome game with a good demo theres also galactic civ
