I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 audio card, and my case has the standard headphone and mic jacks in the front. The soundcard has what looks like an ide connector of pins that are there for some product they sell for way too much money, but i just want to know what pins are for mic and headphones and cannot find info on creatives website. If anyone knows which pins do what, it would be greatly appreciated, please help

Yep I have an Audigy X-gamer original, and there are a lot of pins which I don't have a single clue of wtf they do.

For those that don't know---------> This information is provided in the "hwinfo.hlp" file

In case you haven't figured it out yet........
you can not connect your front pannel mic or headphone jack to any of those pins.
There are OEM versions of the Live and Audigy cards that have another header labeled JP1 for front pannel I/O's

1 - Analog Ground
2 - Analog Headphone Out Left
3 - Audio Backpanel Mute -- short to ground to mute the backpanel (when headphones are plugged in)
4 - Analog Headphone Out Right
5 - same as #3
6 - Mic input from front panel
7 - key pin (shouldn't be there)
8 - VREF out -- voltage reference for Mic
9 - MIC IN MUTE -- ground when mic isn't plugged in, +12VDC when mic is plugged in
10 - Audio cable detect -- will be ground when headphones are plugged in (not normally used)

I have an old "original" LiveDrive panel painted silver (you can repaint it) if you want it.. just pay shipping. Doesn't have the digital connections.. but it has the mic and headphone jack. You can just use an IDE cable lined up perfectly if you don't have the cable. It will go over on the pins.. you just make sure they line up. I am using rounded cables on my a2 plat. right now.

It turns out mine is the dell edition which has a front panel connector with the pins in the order mentioned a few posts up. Thankyou very much for posting which pins are what, and also for the offer for the livedrive.
