What would be the best option for audio for someone with a mini-ITX board. USB is the only choice as the PCI-E will be occupied.
 
best option would be a USB to SPDIF converter if you have a DAC already.

if not get a decent USB DAC and connect it to your amp.

budget ?
 
What speakers/headphones do you have?

Is this going to a receiver? Is HDMI an option?
