Hi i currently have an audigy ES value, hooked up to my Logiteck Z-2200 200rms. I am upgrading in the next week, and i would like to try something new, i heard the x-fi is good, but i dont want to spend too much. I was wondering if i get this: Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtrememusic 24BIT Sound Card do you think i can see the difference with the headset i have right now. Its kind of mid-range quality headset, i will probably go sennheiser HDxxx sometime in the future when i will develop the taste of crystal sharp sound heh.

My question is: because the Logitech Z-2200 have a remote to control the volume, on/off, plug the headset, would i see a difference or i would really need to directly plug my headset into the soundcard. And do you think MDR-V700 are quality enough to see the difference between a 150$ sound card and a 40$ one..?

X-fi makes use of the headphones with teh cmss3d or something...makes games sound better... and the v700DJ are quality enough I guess...

AND... plugging headphones in the z-2200/z-680/z-5500 and etc... causes the sound quality to degrade... and distortions at high volumes like using them on a 5 buck cd player. This is first hand experience too :p

I'm interested to see how you like them. Most people I have heard from have had bad results with low impedance headphones and the X-Fi.
 
yes i own them already, bought them 2 years ago for 100$ cnd. As far as i can say from those headset, its really good quality for the price. Sony tend to be more sharp in the tremble, and the bass is not as strong as i would like but when i hook them up to my pc and change the equalizer, it sounds powerfull.

Cant wait to experience something like HD650 ahah
 
I love those headphones. However, I use mine with an amp to adjust the bass and treble- I think that you will find the trebe to be a bit low and the bass to high if you take these headphones strait off of the X-FI.
 
Yup, the Vcrap... Altho didn't the V600 start the Vcrap thing? None the less VX00 is garbage.

Get yourself a pair of MDR-V6 (NOT 600), CD3000, or SA series if you like Sony.
 
he already own it.. and he's getting some sennheiser later... no reason to get another sony..

They look like nice headphones, sounds like Sony had their stuff together when they built them. For now, Ill stick with my 600's, as I do not use them all that often. :)
 
Well, just remember, the Sound Quality of the MDR-V700DJ *is* beaten by the $20 USD Sennheiser HD201's...
 
well it depends on what kind of music... but still sad a 20 bucks HP and beat a WAY more expensive HP at all :p

Just curious, what kind of music would the V700s be better at?
 
trance/electronica or w/e u wanna call it.. I am pretty sure rap/hip-hop b/c the hd201 has a lack of bass from what I have heard.

FWIW, I listen to progressive and psytrance and occasionally rap/hip hop. I moved from a set of HD580's which I really liked.. except I found the bass was lacking, (at least for a bass head like me.) then someone gave me a set of V700's (hoping for better bass) but I didn't like them at all. The bass was muddy and everything sounded like midrange. I think if you tried some DT770's (especially for bass heavy music), you won't believe you ever liked the V700's. The soundstage is great, price is decent, and they are built like a tank. To top it all off.. gaming is awesome on them too.

I really liked how the V700's looked and folded up though. :)
 
Although the extension isn't the best, I find the bass is pretty adequate on the HD201s. I found it to be pretty decent with rap/hiphop. No boomy bass to speak off (which makes listening to rap/hiphop extremely uncomfortable imo).

So you've heard... well I HAVE the HD201's, and the bass is definately NOT lacking. It's there and it has an impact (more than than my HD580s...)
 
wow thank you about this beautiful discussion on my headphons ahah, i know this is not the best quality headphns, as i told you i bought them 2 years ago for 100$ CND i think that for that price those headphns gave me good price/quality/performance.

because i dont have good quality soundcard (Audigy ES) i cannot experiment something crappy with those ones.

And i want to say that i never experimented real GOOD quality headphns, so i dont know how it sounds like. Never heard professional stuff. I just want to know if the new soundcard im buying (X-FI- xtrememusic) will provide me a better sound quality compared to my Audigy ES. Hooked up to those MDR-V700.

If i like the taste of something better then what i have right now, i will probably go for good sennheiser HD595 o HD650 with a good AMP from MisterX :p

Im not in the "good sound" world yet,, but i know that i would appreciate good sound. Im used to good soundspeaker my father has hooked up to a vinyl turntable. The quality is really nice. I dont know what are those speaker though, ANYWAYS i was talking about that juust to say that:

-Will i feel the difference between MDR-v700 with Audigy ES then with the MDR-v700 with X-FI xtrememusic.

-If i do im planning to go higher quality later on, and maybe get an amp from misterX
