balls my old Acer AL2416W PVA model left side back light just went pop and now my screen is half dark half light


dont suppose anyway to fix this?
 
Nope . You're screwed , replacing the CCFL for individual models is pretty much not possible. Unless its under warranty (which it probably isn't) you are gonna be shopping for a new panel :(
 
Yeah, you're pretty much screwed.

But, since the panel is probably pretty much worthless to you anyway, you might want to pop it open and have a look.

The best scenario i can see for you is to go on ebay and find a broken panel of the same model and try to swap the parts without breaking them. It's important to know though that LCDs are stupidly fragile once you have the case off.
