hi, so i have a gigabyte rtx 4090 i have 3 tv plugged in but one is a new lg gaming tv. and this is only happening on the lg tv. When i start a movie on amazon prime and it only happen with amzn prime the screen goes black i have to pull the hdmi cable out of the video card and plug it back in and its fine... Anyone hear of this before or know why thanks!!

Are you playing Prime Video through the Windows app or the website?

When you installed the 4090, did you do a clean installation of the driver?
through the web site..
Try toggling hardware acceleration in the web browser you're using.
sounds like hdcp isnt happy. make sure its on in the gpu options.
You can't disable HDCP on NVIDIA cards without using a hack.
sorry not so good with software whats hdcp mean?
High Definition Content Protection. It is to prevent recording directly from the source.

maybe it's trying to pull/use HDR which is exceeding the bandwidth of the cable so it fails then reverts back when the cables plugged back in? just a guess. but i'm leaning toward something HDR related.

Yes i did do a clean install and i will try the hardware acceleration on and off, i think i just picked up on something else if this matters it seems the movies i pay for do it but when i watch the free movies the screen does not cut off....

On PC, Prime Video only supports HD/1080p.

What happens if you try to playback the video on a different display?

This might sound like heresy around here, but is there an Prime app on the TV? Might save you a lot of hassle.

so i played a free movie on my other tv thats hooked up and nothing happen next time i pay for a movie i will try it on the other screen also and let u guys know, also if this matters it does not happen if i restart the movie only for the first time if i close everything down and come back later and continue to watch the movie its fine just on the first time it does it .

Are you using an AV Receiver of any sort? Never had any issues going straight from GPU to TV over HDMI, but when you mix in an AV receiver, things can occasionally get fucky.

no just the hdmi cable from gpu to the tv

why 1080? i got a rtx 4090 graphics card hdr 4k and the tv is 4k it wont play 4k?
It's an artificial limitation imposed by Amazon because they think it's easier to pirate content on PC. I use the webOS version of Prime Video all the time on my LG TV and it works very well.

Netflix seems to be the only streaming service that doesn't gimp their Windows app. It supports 4K / HDR / Atmos and has a good interface, too. Every other one I've tried either limits the resolution, audio, HDR support, or all of the above.

yup. for anything new i use the tv apps, if im streaming oldies like Cheers, ill just do it in the browser.

i put in another 4090 card today so it was my 4th card and it still did it so its deff not from the cards also i noticed when the screen does go black i get popping noise in my speakers and they not tv speakers home speakers in case someone asks if its the speakers on the tv...

An update if anyone still watching, so just now was not even thinking about it i had amazon prime on my second screen and started a free video and screen 1 blacked out again also this is the first time it has done it on another screen and with a free video....
