Someone wanna make me an msi from an exe?

So I can't find any new VLC installers in MSI form, I want to deploy this over our network via group policy but for the love of god I cannot figure out how to create an MSI from an existing exe.

The latest version of VLC player can be found here:

if you can make me an msi with mozilla plugin enabled and all supported files set to default open in vlc i will give you a cookie

i've wanted to know how to do this for the longest time. would make deploying applications via gp much easier.

Why don't you just use an MSI wrapper tool?

I can wrap it into an MSI for you, but I don't have time to track down the registry settings for associations.

Or -- look up Advanced Installer. It's free for the slim version, and you can make some pretty cool packages with it.
