I have my 4 instances of Folding running on my dual xeon setup! Should I run 2 with reg. work units and 2 with large work units?

Thanks

Dual 2.2ghz Xeons
1gig pc800 ecc rdram
72gigs of SCSI ultra 160 loving
Anything else?

Do Xeon's have HT enabled? If they do have HT, then yes four instances would be good. If not, then two.

Edit: Is this system dedicated to folding, if it isn't what else does it run?

I think that would be the case with the right Xeon's.....otherwise 4 instances wouldn't work.

Only 1 gig of RAM and two 600pointers plus 2 regular work units = bad times...IIRC.

Yes they do I am running four instances since two weeks ago would it change anything if I were to change 2 of those to big work units?

Well, it would use alot more RAM if you had big WU's on. If this machine is dedicated to folding you will be OK IMO.

It's going to be bad times anyway because it's not real SMP, but a gig isn't enough for two 600's and two regulars, no.

At least I got that right today....

I would try running one instance with large WUs and see how it does. If that is not a problem and the RAM situation looks good, maybe try a second one. That would be the best thing I can think of although it would probably be pushing it.
