Some Fun Benchmarks

[H-street]

Been Working on a little project but i thought i'd share some of fun benchmarks i've been running..

Building some 3dfx setups for good times and i just wanted to have a look...

GFTi4400
2 x Diamond Monster 3d II 8Mb in/SLI
160Gb WD

First up 3dfx's Wizmark Benchmarks (wouldn't run with my X190XTX on vista)

Voodoo2@90mhz 93282
Voodoo2SLI@90mhz 160881 (that is a 70% increase)
Voodoo2@99mhz 101418 (9% increase)
Voodoo2SLI@99mhz 173989
GFTi4200 427065 (450% increase over Voodoo2)

Quake2 8x6 (frames per second)

AMD3500+ Software 84.8

Voodoo2SLI/12Mb 74
Voodoo2SLI/12Mb@99 82
Geforce256 w/TnL 177
Geforce256 w/oTnL 187 (AMD3500+)
GFTi4400 w/o TnL 211 (680%)
GFTi4400 w/Tnl 212
X1900XTX w/TnL 252 (813%)
8800GT w/TnL 234

GFTi4400 12x10 w/TnL 182
X1900XTX 12x10 w/TnL 262
8800GT 12x10 w/TnL 234

There you have it.. 10 years of graphics hardware..

what i find kindof funny is the fact that Software mode in Quake2 is now faster than the Voodoo2 Single (but not quite faster than the oced Voodoo2SLI)...

just goes to show how important 3d acceleration was to gaming..

anyways just some fun numbers..

i just put together the Voodoo3 machine, the Voodoo1 (orchid righteous all the way *click click*) machine is next, and then onto the Voodoo 5 machine..

oh btw.. i dont' want to hear anyone complain about vista.. you have no idea how good XP/Vista is until you try to resurrect Win98SE (and even ME).. Its amazing how far Microsoft has come with windows vista...

---- Update 12-15-07
Added 12Mb Voodoo2 (nice STB Blackmagic's) and 8800GT Benchies (there seems to be an odd limit on the 8800GT w/TnL in mdk2)
in MDK2 the extra 4mb of texture memory on the Voodoo2 12mb was a huge deal, a single OCed 12Mb could perform better than the normal clocked V2 8mb in SLI.
Added Geforce256 (First Geforce) to the benchies

That's awesome but it looks like you are cpu limited. A geforce 4 neck and neck with 1900xtx?

[H-street]

yea what i didn't put on is the MDK2 X1900XTX @ 1920x1080 ends up being 243 fps..

you can see quickly that the GFTi4400 even going from 8x6 to 12x10 drops 23% while the X19XTX actually goes up..

[H-street]

added the 12Mb Voodoo2 and the 8800GT numbers..

this is a pretty awesome post.
