how would he need the extra space, the SN25P is exactly the same size, except instead of a PCIe 1x(or 4x, can't remember) slot, there is another 16x PCIe slot.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I've seen a sn25p w/ a x850xt which is still pretty big and a dualslot cooler. I say you have 2 options...!

Sn25p + x1800xt

Sn26p + 7800 GTX 512mb

Although, you would be screwed on sli if the GTX 512mb is a dual slot design, then I say just get 2 eVGA GT CO's.

So, when is 7800 ???? 512 coming out then? :D

Also, i prefer ati over nvidia since they can run both hdr and aa at the same time.

I'm sure nvidia is working on something in their drivers to get HDR +AA

If the GTX 512mb is a dual slot design, you might as well go with the SN25p.

On another note, I noticed that the SN26P disapeared from New Egg's invetory today and It wasn't listed on pricewatch. maybe shuttle decided that they should include the heatpipes after all and recalled all the pieces in retail.

I run HDR and AA at the same time right now, with the 7800 GT...

Are you sure, I was under the assumptino if your playing with aa/af, and you enable HDR it turns of the AA.

No, it runs just fine. If i knock off the AA, I even get a performance boost.

I can also tell the difference with everything else on, and AA on/off.

Go with the 7800GTX 512MB. I think the 7800GTX 512MB would have been a winner if they kept the core speed the same. With the speed bump, it should be no contest.

It is a dual slot design, but how about saving $800? Anyone?

Being dual slot is not going to stop people from blowing a ton of money and running two in SLI. No doubt it will run hot, but there are bound to be some mods or aftermarket coolers that would work.

Why couldn't they have just called it an Ultra? It's way more than a RAM upgrade.

Ok let me explain the HDR + AA at the same time again. There are 2 types of HDR out there. The one Far Cry uses(has some tecnically name that I dont know) and the one Half Life 2 uses(also has some technical name I dont know). The one Half-Life 2 uses, yes you can do HDR and AA at the same time on any card out there. The one that Far Cry uses, only the X1800's series can do HDR and AA at the same time on this game. Why? It something to do with the frame buffer Far Crys type of HDR uses. It uses the same frame buffer AA uses. Thus making you choose between AA or HDR. ATI found a way to fix this problem, thus making any types of HDR out there compatible with AA at the same time. Nvidia cant do this, and they wont be able to do it, until at least next gen. Its a hardware issue, not a software issue that can be fixed in there drivers. And if I was to take a guess, the only way Nvidia will be able to do this, if they design a new archatecture(sp?).

The SN26P doesn't have space for two dual slot coolers. the cooler will block the second pci-e x16 slot. At least to my knowledge, which could be wrong. Unless that is, you use aftermarket single slot coolers.
