Small Rant

Ugh! I have THE ugliest card of them all! It looks like the OP's card, but the guy (not even a chick) is SO ugly! :O

hahah, they don't bother me; but I too have noticed how absolutely cheesy they are. Once it's stuck in the case it doesn't matter any more... but most of these graphics look like cheesy box art from game magazines in the 90s and early 2000s

I thought that same thing too "how much did they pay for this graphic"?

Just having something like "EVGA 9800 GTX" would be nice.

wow. I cant imagine even being that concerned about something I will never see and has zero impact on how it performs. its a freaking sticker thats all and will be upside down and out of view.

I think you missed the part where the price and warranty were the same.

what does that have to do with I said? I am talking about in general that I couldnt care less what sticker is on a card I buy. btw I can roll my eyes too. :D

All things being equal, and most of the times they are with these cookie cutter cards nowadays, I am picking the card without the gay sticker.

No I was saying that I see a sticker... right on the fan..

He said there were no stickers...

For pete's sake, its a sticker the size of a dime in the center of the fan blades with a word on it.

i think the OP is mad because the CGI character is giving him the loser sign. :p

Your worried about the look of something that you will never see once it's in the system?

I see my video card plain as day in my Thermaltake Lanbox. And thankfully, it's not gay looking like the OP's card.

Actually, I don't like even the simple stickers. When I was dismantling my BFG 280s to water cooler them I ripped off the little 280GTX sticker and there was a nice GeForce logo under it.

the cards are in your case

who gives a shit. get another cooler if it borhers you so much.

It looks like there are quite a few people that "gives a shit". Just because you don't agree, does not mean that we can't have a preference.

Hopefully, video card companies wake up and realize we are not all 14yr old adolescents.

There are so many ways for the end user to deal with this that I cannot see the point in making a thread to bitch about it.

even though i've never owned an ati card with one of those fruity ass logos, I still take the stickers off my evga cards. i really liked the gtx280 art and kept it on, but everything else i take off and store on wax paper. it doesn't make a difference either way since I can't see that part of the card in my case, but for whatever reason, I always take off the stickers. I love the stock nvidia geforce logo.

not to be an ass or something, but when im using my PC, i look at the monitor, not what my pc is sporting, but i guess everybody has their own way of doing things

All the real hardcore gamers know its not whats on screen that matters its whats inside your case on your vi...

Wait what?

Well, the topic says "Small Rant", so we kind of got what it says on the label ;)

But as most cards of the same chip/type only have minor price differences, I'm sure the design makes a difference when picking one.

My last 3 cards have been top line nVidia cards, so no silly shit on them. My 8600GT looked semi-retarded, and my Radeon 9800 had some demon-cyborg chick on it. I swapped that out for a Zalman cooler.

They are still stuck on Xtreme! marketing.
