Sluggish performance - What else to try?

Hey guys -

Alright before my format everything worked fine. But it seems to be giving me sluggish performace in games. My system is a shuttle, a64 2800, 1gig hyper x, 160gig, 9800pro.

When i play Far Cry or Vietcong it seems to be sluggish or kinda skippy. Anything you guys can thing of?

I have Emule and DC++ running to keep my downloads going, i think i had the same thing going before hand.

Any advice??

nope their all installed, only 1 driver to install besides the 9800 pro ones.

its a nforce board all the drivers are built into the nvidia exe
 
Um, Windows XP SP2? Try taking off all your programs (DC++? Emule?) off, clean up, check disk, defrag, etc, reboot, then try playing a game.

Check your SmartGART in control panel. Make sure AGP 8x is working. I thought I had my drivers installed and it said AGP off, so I redid them (mobo then vid card) and it fixed it :)
