Slot Loading Drives

Are there any other full size Slot Loading drives other than the one made by plextor? Or is there a way to fit a laptop slot load drive into a normal size bay?

dunno about doing it yourself. But one of those Multi-Drive duplication companies made a single bay / dual (laptop) drive reader/burner combo bout a year or so ago. Sorry ... that's all that comes to mind

With the proper adapter, you can take most any lappy drive and have it work on a regular IDE channel.

To fab the drive bay, that takes a little bit of work, there are pre-fab'd bays, but I cannot find the links.

There was another thread asking about this a while back, but there are adapters for laptop slot-loading drives to stick them into a 5.25" bay.

well you guys gave me knew hope that it does exist, so i went back to google and tried tons and tons of different keywords, and looked through many many pagers...

i think the first one is best, and it doesn't look nearly as ugly as the second one...

here ya go.. it's cheap too.. and burns dvd's. You might even be able to remove it from the external case... but I like externals..

NEC used to make a 4 disc slot loader for the PC. I went through two of them before I wised up and threw it in the garbage. Oh, and I had to take it apart to get a disc stuck inside out before I threw it out.
