slipperyskip's Level Eleven

Looking good! How about ebony or rosewood for an inlay. Too expensive? Keep it going. I like it. Cheers!

this just keeps getting better :)

Thank you!

Thanks!

I've decided to shelve this idea for now. I've increased the frequency of the rays and shifted the sun around but it still looks like a Japanese flag. Sigh. I'm toying with the idea of using a modified cross thingy. I think it's called a swastika. (Damn you evil people for ruining great designs.) :D

J/K I'm going to do something simpler that fulfills my requirements. It includes using aluminum as a veneer so we'll see how my mock-up looks.

Just a note: I have seen the Japanese battle flag on TV three times in the last two days. They even showed it during a segment on The Daily Show Wednesday night! OK OK I get the hint already.

It looks more like the Fox News logo to me. JK =-P

Your design is so beautiful, I look forward to the next set of photos.

She's coming along nicely! I like the aluminum veneer design you chose over the other. It just looks cleaner.

yeah, Il second the aluminum. Just a sweet looking case your making. Its inspiring. I have thoughts of doing something similar now with my full sized stuff and a bit more aluminum. Cant wait to see the Level Eleven finished.

Wow. I am sorry I missed this from the beginning.

I'm not entirely sure that "Amateur" can be used here. You'd give more than a few modders a run for their money. THIS requires front page [H] pimpage!!!

This is a beautiful mod. Itching to see the final product. :D

/me falls over

Very nice bro, very nice.

wow, pictured next to the soda can, that thing just looks amazing. you have done some amazing finesse work here. congratulations on a great mod!

(also, you spelled preliminary wrong in the last pic. might wanna fix and reupload if that sort of thing bugs you. :D)

One more inch. Like the finned box at the bottom, the aluminum inlay might look better and more symmetrical if it extended all the way over to the vertical wood portion. Looking good as usual. Whatcha think?

wounder if you could use a touch senser like in lamps for the on off that way keeping the smooth looks
i guess another option would be a reed switch and a magnetic keythob

There is no switch involved with this button. I wouldn't place a switch on the SSD box because then it would be tethered by a wire. The real power switch is on the back where I prefer it. I apologize for not being clearer.

You're still looking good. I'm sorry that the inlay won't extend the entire width, but hey, Feng Shui ain't everything. Cheers!

Nothing has been set in stone yet. That's not aluminum in the photo but raw wood. I still have the full width aluminum band. I cut the partial width version first to see how it looked.

ah i see if i had taken a better look at the photo's i would of seen the power buttun by the power inlet

Feng Shui returns. Sir, it is truly breathtaking. It brings tears to my eyes. You should be proud. Cheers!

So that's what, 25 cm tall? :)

Still looks cute :D
