1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming, mainly MMORPG's.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? $900 total not including shipping.
3) Which country do you live in? Kansas, USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, SSD, Mem, vid card, case, PS, DVD-RW.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Not reusing parts
6) Will you be overclocking? No
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? 27" 1920x1080
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Within a week
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? SATA 6Gb/s
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, W7 Pro 64 Bit
Since I sell my main computer and build a new computer so often I've moved from PC gaming to console gaming mainly because I'm tired of backing up saved game files and some of that DRM is just plain evil. I do play a few Steam games that have cloud saving, like Skyrim, but mainly the computer will be used for MMORPG's (WoW, Tera, etc).
Those of you who have seen my previous builds and mods know that I'm a SSF freak and this build will be no different. With AMD's new APU I thought I'd try out some half-height SSF gaming. The specs are below:
Case: In Win BP617.200BL Just about the only Mini-ITX half-height case I could find that accepts a standard issue TFX power supply. I will probably add vent holes to the video card side of the case for better cooling, similar to what I did on my SG05 build.
Power Supply: SeaSonic SS-300TFX I don't trust power supplies that come with cases and this SeaSonic one flat out rocks.
MB: ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 Only two FM1 Mini-ITX mb's out there right now and ASRock has never done me wrong yet.
CPU & Heatsink: AMD A8-3850 I would like to OC but I've read all the reviews I can find on that ASRock MB and they all say the same thing, there's like zero OC ability on it.
Mem: GeIL EVO CORSA Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) Combo deal with the CPU. This will be my first time using GeIL.
Video Card: SAPPHIRE HD6670 HD The only TRUE single slot, half height, GDDR5 6670 I could find.
SSD: Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 240GB 240GB should be fine for my needs.
DVD-RW : Whatever SATA DVDRW is on sale when I buy everything.
From the reviews and benchmarks I've seen, That 6670 X-Fired with that A8-3850 should pull around 60fps in my MMORPGs and even play Skyrim at 1920x1080 resolution at half way decent settings.
After I get everything built and burnt in I'll think about modding it. A top window could be kinda cool. I'll know more once I see the case in real life.
Anyone see any obvious mistakes?
