Slightly longer POST times compared to normal

My PC is taking slightly longer (by about 5 or so seconds) longer to POST as of late. When it does post there are no issues. I've been through a few defective GTX 560tis in the past few weeks. Could the damaged cards have damaged my motherboard? Before the time until POST used to be significantly shorter with my GTX 260/integrated, however ever since messing around with those 560tis it takes longer.

Thanks for the reply. Could a different PSU cause longer POST times? I did recently switch from an Antec Earthwatts 500 to a Earthwatts 650.

Could a damaged motherboard cause damage to a video card? I assume that it is possible, but how likely is it?

It can be either something is enbled in BIOS that it is looking for before booting into windows, HD taking longer to initiate. If it is talking longer at the swirl before getting to the desktop, it could be a program that is starting up causing the system to take longer to get into windows. I had this happen with motherboard utilities. Could be a lot of things causing that. It all depends on which screen it is taking longer to load on.

Nothing displays on the screen (this is usual). It just takes longer from the time I press the power button until I hear the POST beep. During this period the fans spin to their highest levels (again, normal for this board). After this is done the motherboard will beep followed by the BIOS screen being displayed and everything else loads as quickly as it always did. It doesn't bother me, I am just wondering what could cause this? Is there something the motherboard BIOS might be looking for?

The time from first power on to the post beep is usually when the computer is checking system RAM and connected hardware.
for the Video, there is usually an option to always enable both instead of auto. There is also HDD delay setting on some BIOS. It may just be the way your current video card initializes.

The POST beep usually doesn't happen until the power has stabilized. Could be the new power supply takes longer to make this happen, but 5 seconds is a long time, possible sign of weak/gimpy PSU.

Both as in enable both integrated graphics + PCI E in the BIOS? I always assumed this would cause issues once in Windows.

That might be the case then. It is an Antec Earthwatts 650. Replaced an Earthwatts 500. Time until POST was rather similar between the two, as of late it seems as if the time until POST is increasing.

Edit: It takes 9 seconds until I hear the POST message.
