Slight static noise coming from PC

I recently upgraded my 3820 to a 3930 which required me to removed everything as it is a MATX case. System works fine now, but I hear a slight what I can only describe as a static ring. It is pretty faint but its bothering me as my case sits on top of my desk. This wasnt a problem before I installed the new cpu. Going to have to tear it down I suppose and put the system back together in hopes the problem is fixed, but I'd like a couple opinions from people who may have had the same problem. Thanks in advance :)

Danny is on the right track. Use a straw to your ear and go around inside your case looking for the sound. Most likely it's the PSU.
 
Thanks for the input guys here's what I've done

I first checked the bios to see if the proc switch changed any settings and wouldn't you know it, on board sound was on. So I thought for sure it's that. Sadly the problem persisted so I took out the sound card and used a straw to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. It sounds like from around the processor area above where the sound card was plugged in.

My question now is could it be the noise coming from the processor itself? Does it make a constant noise?

Second could I have damaged something inn the board which would cause it?
 
Ok now I'm certain it's either the CPU or maybe a capacitor in the CPU area. It makes the noise when at idle, but when I stress the system it goes away :/ prime 95 makes it dissappear
 
CPUs don't make noise by them selves. See if you can reassemble the build.
