When I turn the volume knob down fast, the left speaker (speaker without the control pod) crackels like hell . When I have headphones connected, the left side crackles as well. I made sure that the minijack was properly connected into the back of the computer. Could the amplifier be screwed up? It pissed me off because that noise is soo friggen loud. Anyone have the same problem?
 
My 4.1 do that too. I have had these for a few years now. It is usually just due to dust etc. getting into the volume pot.

All you have to do is move the pot back and forth for a bit at a moderate speed and you will hear the crackling decrease and disappear.

Also, for future reference, there is a Klipsch forum at www.klipsch.com where most of this has been covered many a time.

Anyhoo.. I just fixed mine in less than 10 seconds.. easy enough of a fix for ya?

holy crap... you rule. that's been bugging me for the past couple months but i never got around to fixing it ;)

I believe you can just put a drop of oil in/on the pot then rotate it to the extremes for a better effect.
 
if you have the original pre-amp module (the v2-400's, and maybe the next series had it), they came out with a replacement pre-amp module(under the left speaker) that you could buy for $50 or so that was supposed to fix that issue.

My solution was to turn the volume up to a med/high, and just use the software volume buttons on my keyboard instead, to control it before it gets to the speakers ;) Also means i can adjust the volume when im sitting in bed, since its a wireless logitech kb ;)
