SLI 2 Different Manufacturers cards??

I currently have a BFG 9800 512 GT and I would like to get another 9800 to run sli. I'm considering an MSI 9800 512 GT. Aside from some memory timing differences, these cards look much the same spec wise. Can they be run in sli??
