Many people would suggest against this and go as far as saying that calling the store about a good deal is breaking the first rule to hot deals. A lot of the time the employees don't realize the real worth of the deal until their phones start blowing up with people asking about the deal. This can backfire on the consumer trying to save gas since the employee will then lie to you and buy up the remaining copies for their own financial gain.
