It's been six months since I built this rig....

So I'm curious, looking back...

1. Was this a wise investment at the time, price-wise?
($1150 with Win7 OEM disc).

2. Is it a well balanced setup, performance/component-wise?

3. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate it performance-wise, TODAY?

4. Would I seriously benefit from OCing??

5. If I could travel back in time, is there anything I should've done differently??

Intel Core i5-750 @ STOCK
XFX 5850 Black @ 765/1125 [10.5a]
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 1333
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 [F8]
WD Caviar Black 1TB
Corsair TX650W
Cooler Master Centurion 590
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Thanks! I look forward to your replies.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) 8.5
4) Depends on what exactly you're doing with the PC and what games
5) Samsung F3 1TB drive if it was available back then. Probably would have gone with the higher quality Antec TP-750 PSU instead.

Stupid question, but do YOU feel like it's lacking in any particular area(s)?

Not really, this is more reflecting on my purchasing and overall build decisions six months after the fact.

Like, based on what we know NOW (tech-wise), was this a good call THEN etc.

It's a fine system now, just as it was six months ago. Now there may be some people recommending their preferences, like Danny did earlier, but no one would fault you on what you have now.

looks fine to me, especially if it performs to your liking. The only thing I would have done differently is try to fit an SSD into there. :p

thats almost identical to my build except i have an SSD (added later) and a 5870. im still loving the build. preforms super fast.

System looks alright. You have headroom for the cpu if you wish to over clock.
BTW ps could be a little stronger

It seems pretty good to me. I have an i5-750 and I really like the thing. You will benefit a lot from overclocking. My i5-750 will run rock solid with miniscule voltage increases at 3.8ghz.
