Single GPU Solution for Triple Display

Is there any way to get triple display working using a single gpu solution with AMD?

Triple display with dual DVI and HDMI.

I know the new GTX 680 can do this, but i'd much prefer AMD GPUs

You need an active adapter (single link active adapters are like $30, and I think some of the higher end cards come with one), but any 5xxx or higher AMD card will do this. AMD has supported this longer than Nvidia has.

Actually i think even 4000 series can do this, so im sure you can find a HD4350 or so but like he said you may need an adapter, or there are some 6850 series card that have multi-display ports

For what games and settings? Lots of cards can display games over 3 monitors, but not many can at playable settings with more pretty visuals in more demanding games.

Only a 7970 will get you acceptable triple monitor gaming performance with a single GPU. But if you're just using the displays for productivity purposes any 5000 series and above will do.

No single card on AMD side prior to the 5xxx series can support 3 displays. It may have 3 connectors, but the chip itself can only produce two display signals at a time. Even with the 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx series, it requires at least one connection to be displayport.

GTX 680 is the only current card that can natively do 3 DVI/HDMI outputs.

Although, some of the Galaxy MDT cards may be able to do what you're looking for.

that was exactly the answer i was looking for Tsumi, so i guess i'm doomed to either use an adapter for one of the DVI, or i'll have to get a 680

My 7970 came with an active miniDP to DVI adpater. Or you could just get one off eBay for cheap.
