Well it's definitely still Civ.
I played my first game. Suddenly it was 8 fucking hours later. I played like a gigantic pussy and let the Slavs attempt to obliterate me early on. After wasting ever unit they had I was surprised to find him willingly giving up all their energy and strategic resources to try and keep me at bay. The next and last they saw of me was bugs the size of sky scrapers surrounding their cities several hundred years later.
So the good is that turns seem much quicker end game. The game is butter smooth on ultra with Mantle. The AI seems more sane, especially with trade requests.
The bad is the UI just sort of seems to meld together. I dunno really how to put it, but I'm not a huge fan of it. And I dunno, only played a single game so far but I'm not sure if I like the progression as much.
