Shuttle SD31P installation problems

Last week I bought a SD31P along with a Pentium D 2x3.2GHz processor, 2 x OCZ 1GB RAM and a 200GB SATA 2 hard drive. I have also installed a Shuttle WIFI module but there is no floppy drive.

I have installed all of these components using the instructions in the manual but when I switch the machine on, it seems to stay on the Shuttle X-PC splash screen and does not continue to try and boot.

I can press DELETE to get to the BIOS settings which seems to recognise all the components correctly.

As the SATA 2 hard drive is new, it currently has nothing installed on it. I have tried an old IDE hard drive but the same problem occurs.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem might be? Or some BIOS settings that may be worth checking.

After reading another thread in the forum, I might try disconnecting the Shuttle Card Reader and see what that does.

Any advice?
 
i just read this on the shuttle website

Memory Compatibility : Install memory in any or all of the banks according to the combinations shown below.
Note :
1. Maximum installable memory is 2GB.
2. Double-side X16 DDR2 chips are not supported.
3. Registered DIMMs are not supported.
4. Only unbuffered without ECC DIMM are supported.
5. Does not support X4 DDR2.


#2 i count 16 memory chips on each stick so i think this is the problem.
 
I wonder if that information is accurate. I also read that only 4-4-4-12 @533 and 5-5-5-15 @667 is suppored, yet I'm running 3-2-2-4 @533.
 
if that doesn't work there's an option in the bios that says "HDD Security Freeze Lock"

this MUST be disabled.
