By portrait I mean people portrait pics :D

Sigma 70-300 APOII
ISO800 :eek: (cleaned it up obviously)

I was about 20yrds away and had to take the pic standing on the track surrounding the field shooting through people and underneath a podium. For a freehand shot in low light it came out nice.
 
A few "portraits" from CES. Please note these were are not intended to be "boothbabe" shots, but rather tests of my photography skills.

Stereodude: I really like the first one. Not only is the chick pretty damn hot, but the photo has a good composition and she has a nice pose/expression.

I don't think anyone would crap their pants if you posted a portrait of your pet or something like that (or aliens).

We already have, and "post you best shots" thread. This one is SPECIFICALLY for portraits of HUMAN BEINGS.

Olympus C700 UZ. Not the best camera, but works if you know how to use it.

hopefully i'll have some new ones soon, doing a photoshoot for a friend on wed, we'll see how they come out. Sort of afraid though, she wants "studio" type shoots of her and her boyfriend, but I don't have a studio or really enough room to improvise one (going to try though then bring them outside for some stuff).

I did pick up some halogen lights (500 watts each) from sears on the recomendation of another photographer, and going to use fuji NPC rated @ 125 (from the looks it works good with halogens) So i'm keeping my fingers crossed, might have to rearange my room :p

What did you really expect? Courtesy of the digital camera everyone thinks they're a photographer. Looking through this thread I see a lot of pictures and not too many photographs.
 
Mordoor, not sure I like the amount of space at the top and angle of the 2nd shot.

Hey spaz, it may be a thread with you name on it but it isnt your forum, and you seem to be the only one on this forum who gives a crap that people put pictures of their cats...Grow up a little...

I think this is the last straw, i'm very sick of you people being so rude. I've heard bad things about this forum but i doubted them as they were rumored to be fixed. I think the issue is the poeple on the forum, not the people running it.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen... He didn't single anyone out, but is trying to show the difference between great photos and ordinary shots.

No one is gonna get better if they're told "oh wow that's good that's perfect!"

Ya i wasn't thinking too much of backgrounds their are defiently a few things i'd do diferntly and plan on doing diferently, live and learn :)

2) learn to get at least a 3rd grade reading level comprehension. I stated PORTRAITS OF PEOEPLE in the very first thread.
