Hi all,
My PC stopped POSTing a while ago (lightning storm is my guess) and I thought it was a motherboard issue (Asus P6X58D-E), so I went ahead and RMA'd the motherboard.
Unfortunately my PC will still not POST even after the replacement. I've tested it set up with only 1 RAM stick, GPU and CPU connected to see if the mobo speaker would beep, but I still have no luck. I wish I had a friend with another socket LGA 1366 processor to test haha.
Assuming that this motherboard replacement is fine, I think that my CPU (i7 930) is dead. Is this reasonable? How often do CPUs die?
Thanks!
