Should i ditch the E1500 for an E8200?

Microcenter has the E8200 for 99 dollars and i'm VERY tempted. Problem is i fear the E8200 will only be able to goto 4Ghz where my E1500 is well past 4Ghz. What do you guys think?
 
Clock speed isn't the end all of CPU performance. Even with the E8200 at 3.5Ghz, I'm more than willing to bet that it's still faster than your Celeron at 4.5Ghz.
 
Err, ya.

All that extra cache will make a huge difference.

I mean you're going from 256k cache per CPU core to a whopping 3MB, or 12x as much.

You most likely will not hit that 4.5GHz, but even again at 3.5GHz the extra cache will make it a lot faster than your Celly, especially when it comes to gaming.
 
That is a no brainer. As stated above the cache increase alone is worth moving up.
 
Your going to see a huge, huge increase, even though you may not clock over 4ghz.

Thinking a celeron@4.5 ghz is impressive is like saying my dick is 4" longer than yours...but its only a quarter inch wide.

Clock speed only matters when comparing the same family/type of processors :D
