LOL - this is what my little lady would be like if she were a geek like me. Thank GOD she's into sports rather than computers... heh..

Anyways... hey so he got you a koolance? That's pretty nice... you can get an APG 6800GT for pretty cheap and that rig will do _really_ nicely I am sure... I play doom3 and such on my apg rig with a 6800GT AGP and it flies!! :)

im just concerned about gameplay. i am really impatient and i dont want to have to change a bunch of option everytime i get ready to play.
 
its nice to have a female on here! just got my gf learning how to play bf2 and she likes it. especially when using headset you should hear her mouth lol. she likes farcry too. she wants me to build her a rig and i wont skimp on it.I told her i want special treats for what im gonna give her!:D

Oh hell... I hear ya on that... me also... add and ocd... it's a lovely combo.. anyways... - ok - I think you'd be happy with an AGP 6800GT or Ultra... they are very powerful and I essentially leave the "global" driver settings alone and use the in game ones to tweak, just after the install, then never again... well, that's what I do on my util rig and it holds it's own quite well...

and create a moster machine which will make him drool with envy and have it shipped to your front door. lol

(I personally recommend an AMD FX57 cpu with 2x 7800GTX in SLI with the upgraded 550watt psu... :)) lol

i havent had a chance to play. i pulled my vid card out for my new rig and my integrated S3 cant handle it. i think i have even forgotten how to play COD/UO at this point. that would be cool though. all the gaming chicks (the good looking straight ones) form our own server and start kicking mad butt.

i like techie girlie girls. we make the best wives.

this issue was I bought the 7800 for him but he didnt think about my gaming needs because he doesnt think i overclock but now that i am folding i will

i wanted to know what problems to expect using a 9800 or whether to go PCI E.

stay out the thread if u dont like it.

im still sitting here mulling this over and i think im gonna buy this mobo i saw on monarch since it right here in atlanta. and go ahead and scoop another 7800 for myself.
 
go for it you shouldn't deny yourself. dont ever settle for anything in life, make the most of it and enjoy yourself. you never know when you are gonna crap out, I know my wife died at a young age from cancer! she missed out on alot of things.
 
i asked a friend of mine about this too and he suggested the x850 over the 7800 say that the only good thing about the 7800 is SLI.

which one should I get?

i dont see a ton of differences. 850 comes PCI E doesnt it?

yes - the 850 does come in PCI-E, but the 7800GTX is a better over all card... better performer and better eye candy.
