Shopping for a PSU

I'm getting to the point with my system (XP2000+, A7N8X-E, 512MB RAM, 2HDD, Floppy, CD-ROM, CD-RW, lights, case fans) that I think I need a new PSU. I currently have a 300watt that has been stable and probably dont need anything more than a 400 watt or so. What brands would you folks suggest and reccomend? Thanks.

I personaly prefer the Antec TruePower series...I have the 430watt model. They live up to their rating and are real quiet. And Antec's RMA process is so pleasant, I am actualy looking forward to something breaking again:D In my opinion, you cant go wrong with Antec TruePower series.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for saying this :D, but Tom's has a new article with 15 PSU's in it.
Er...a friend's dog told my cat about the article...I didn't go his website.......:D

I also recommend the Antec TruePower 430 or 480. My 430 is going strong for over a year now.

Allrighty...I'm getting the feeling that the Antec is a little popular...thanks!

The Antec True Power 430w and Fortron 400w are the best budget buys. PC Power and Cooling are a little better but alot more expensive. I like Enermax and a few other brands too but i usually stick with Antec psu's.

Antec, Enermax, Fortron...you can't go wrong with any of these. I'd recommend at least 400 watts.

Strange note; went into BIOS to see how bad my PSU is. Well, the 5V line is staying right about 4.7V is that horribly low?
