Hey, I was looking into building a SFF unit able to use a normal size ATX p/s. Any suggestions? I know Cooler Masters has some cases, but will the take a normal p/s???

Majeztik, rephrase your question please, I cant help you if I dont understand what you want.

He's looking for a SFF case that doesn't need a specialized PSU. He wants one that will fit a regular ATX PSU.

If there are any SFF cases out that take a regular ATX PSU, it's going to take a mATX board.

The Antec Aria does not fit a regular ATX PSU, but I've seen at least a few instances where the person has modded their Aria to fit one. I was considering going this route with my last upgrade, and modding an Aria to accept a regular ATX PSU, but I really didn't like the design of the Aria and bought a Shuttle instead.

actually it would take the normal atx power supply. it just wouldn't fit in the case, but the connecters are the same hence mATX and ATX. Now the ATX psu wouldn't fit on an AT mobo.

WTF?

While the connectors are the same, the size of the power supply varies greatly. I agree, the only one that would even take a normal ATX PS would be an Aria modded, although I toyed with the idea of building a Shuttle with the p/s in a separate base with a water cooling setup, but figured I was just looking into a micro case anyway, and for less money than doing a custom Shuttle.

okay i misread it, i thought he was implying that you needed a completely different type of power supply other than smaller, I thought he meant different connectors and setup.

Falcon Northwest has the "Fragbox" but you have to build a whole system to get it. I already asked :(

Which Coolermaster did you find? I was looking for one but only found HTPCs

The F-NW fragbox looks like a FIC/AMS ice-cube to me.

Good luck finding an SFF pc case.

You might try http://www.caseoutlet.com/ https://www.casedepot.com/index-s.html[/URL] . They have some interesting mini-itx cases.

yeah it is as big as a tower lying down.. the psu must be mounted sideways so that adds extra length to the case
