ello everyone,

This is my first thread, So a big HI to all of you :)

After watching lots of LiLi's setup around here, I have decided to set one up for myself. :)

I want you people to please guide me with the system config as its the first time i'll be building an SFF machine.

Lian li V350B (The reason this machine is gonna born :D)
Q9450
P5E VM HDMI
Corsair hx 620w (Modular)
2 x 2gb Corsair rams
ATi HD 4850/4870
Thermalright 120 Extreme (?)

I will be using this machine for gaming/movies etc.

I want to know ... is Q9450 gonna Overkill the system ? I have been using Q6600 in my current rig .. I want to know will Q9450 gonna be much of a difference ? (OC'd or not OC'd)

Do you think its worth installing Q9450 ?

Secondly, Is P5E VM HDMI the best micro atx board in the market currently ? Are any newer boards by other brands coming any time soon ? If yes, then how soon ? You think i should hold my purchase till then ?

I know V350B can take in 8800gt without any problems as can be seen in few threads .. But can it also take an HD 4850 or 4870?

In addition to all this, can it also accomodate TRUE?

I have few more questions regarding the Water cooler etc .. But i will post them once my above queries are answered :)

Yes the Q9450 is a bit overkill for that system. It's only 10% faster than the Q6600 and a bit harder to OC as well. But since this is a SFF case, the Q9450 is a slightly better choice since it doesn't run as hot as the Q6600.

I recommend just getting the Q6600.

Well DFI is releasing a few mATX motherboards based on the P45 chipset IIRC pretty soon. About a few weeks from now IIRC.

Should be able to take the HD4850, not too sure about the HD4870.

Dunno about the TRUE.
 
I have a Q9300 and I am 100% satisfied with it. It is not a monster overclocker, but even at stock speeds I love it.
 
Heh, you could get a Q9550 for $5 or so more than the Q9450 now... Upgrade the Q6600 with the Q9550, and stick the Q6600 in the SFF!
