Im working on OCing my i7 setup. Here are the specs:

Motherboard: GA-EX58-UD5
CPU: i7 920
RAM: 6GB G.Skill 1600
HSF: Noctua

I have LLC enabled, and using 1.4 Vcore, it reads at ~1.312v under load. I'm checking this using CPUID and Gigabyte's software.

Is this a big drop? It looks like it is to me.

Also, my BLCK is at 185x19 and temps on all cores are ~72 C.
 
Does Vdroop matter that much, other than require you to raise the voltage? When it's idle the CPU's not drawing much current anyway.

Mine is like 0.05V, with LLC turned off.
 
The only nitpick we truly have with the BIOS centers on Load-Line calibration. The purpose of this setting is to reduce VDroop and it works perfectly on the other boards. On our particular board sample we still noticed VDroop when a VCore setting of 1.425V resulted in 1.392V real. Gigabyte is aware of this and is working on it now. Otherwise, we commend Gigabyte for a well laid out BIOS and for offering the enthusiast just about every option one could use on a board.

Serious ? IMO hardly, but then I didn't shell out the money. A bitch to Gigabyte support might help light a fire under them to fix it (if it can be fixed in a bios update /concern ).
 
Blah, doesn't really matter. Seems like I got a really crappy batch for my 920. This thing doesn't like anything at or above 3.6 GHz. I'll admit I'm disappointed in it's overclocking abilities.

It might just be that I'm doing something wrong but I've tried to eliminate every possibility but memory is not the problem I know that. Seems like BLCK isn't my problem either because if I lower the multiplier to 19x I can run it at 190 just fine. But if I try to boot at 3.6 GHz no matter what method I use it will always BSOD with a clock error. :(
 
Looks to me like you need to work on getting those CPU load temps down. 72c is kinda high don't ya think?
