Sennheiser or Alienware ?

Never had any problems? Subpar sound quality for a super inflated price-that's not a problem???

I dont mind paying the extra for the quality

m3ta1head said:
lmao, quality?

That's gold. :D

Bose is one of the cheapest headphone makers around.

I like them, never had any issues so i'll stick with them till i have a problem than i will move on

Please don't. Buy a decent pair of headphones and you will see the light.

I used to think Bose Tri Ports were the best headphones ever made a few years ago...but I've obviously come a long way since then.

Just listen to a decent pair of cans, and I guarantee that your Bose cans will be collecting dust ;)

ok, what do you suggest, cost is not an option

Start small; Audio Technica AD700. Progress your way up after that-maybe DT770s with a nice amp?

Get a taste of everything. Try hd650s, etc. All high end headphones are different.

Remember that headphones are mostly subjunctive to the user....you really have to preview a headphone before purchasing it.

I just ordered the Ad700's and These

lmao, got cash to burn? :p

While you're on a streak, can you buy me a pair of AD700s too? :p

Damn. congrats :D

Haha, good stuff bro =).

Let me know how the AD700s work out, im interested in either those, HD595 or the DT770's..

Way back when i was looking at AT cans I was always told to shy away from the ATH-A700s as their sound signature was a departure from the 500/900 cans.

Anyone compared them?

the closed a700's closed cans... the bass isn't as tight as the A500 or the A900, you can call it bloated...

The AD700's which are open, has a totally different sound signature to the closed NON AD-X00 cans... the bass on the open ad700 is nice and tight, now as much pound or boom as the closed ones.

-(Xyphox)- you're just the kind of person needed at head-fi.org: someone who has the money and will soon see the light (that is not Bose). Read around, pick up a nice amp or 2 and some Grados (RS1/RS2), Audio Technicas(ATH-a900), Sennheisers and/or Beyerdynamics. After you hear what's out there you won't have to worry about going back to a name brand that should only specialize in automotive suspension systems (http://www.bose.com/controller?even...arning/project_sound/bose_suspension.jsp&ck=0)

I have the Bose Triport headphones, they are really awesome. I don't see what everyones talking about when they say they break really easy. I've been using mine everyday since December and nothing has gone wrong.

The only headphones to have braken for me are my senheisers. Still good though.

Awesome if all u care about is bling bling.

Seriously, go listen to some $15 Koss KSC-75's, they sound just as good. And a $130 Senn HD580 just blows them away.

nice buy, sicne you are gonna get addicted, followers

ath a 900 ltd dt 770 hd 650 akg 610s

You might want to return the Shure E5c and wait for the new E500 which seems to trounce it in all aspects by what I've read on Head-Fi - it will be 'bout the same price to, I believe.

My next pair will probably be a set of Sennheiser...possibly the hd650s.

Here's an update thanks to Newegg's Awesome shipping i got the
Shure E5C's in this moring.. And all i can say is WOW......
These things blow any pair of headphones i have every owned away.
If you can fit the price tag i would say they are a must have..
Truely best pair of headphones out... :D :D
The sound is the best I have ever heard on a headset. I have tried it out on several different types of high bitrate music (electronic, rock, alternative, classical, rap) and it gets high marks on the whole spectrum of sound.

I dunno man... giving them the word "best" after so little experience... I don't question your opinion that they sound good, but there are tons and tons of competitors to headphones given that price tag.

yeah, they may be the best set of headphones you've ever owned... but that doesn't mean they are the best headphones out.

compare them to some Senn HD595, hd600, or hd650's or some akg 701's then see if you still think that

The guy is stepping up from Bose. Give him a break and let him enjoy the moment of listening to something better than Bose :)

Amen to that. It's always good when people find out what Bose is all about. I always grimace when ever I'm told "You need to check out my new kick a$$ Bose sytem"

If you are looking for home theater and stereo advise, check out the avsforums. some great info there.

Congrats on the new cans.

LOL, I know what you mean. I have way more money in my HT than my computer system.
It's a great hobby though!! ;)

I have more money into freakin headphones than my computer, let alone HT :D

It is a great hobby. Although unfortunatly, I just became hooked on car audio too. Now I have to support headphones, HT, car audio, and computers

hope you don't have to add a new girlfriend to that list. I know my new fashionista is gonna kill my spending habits for all the things I am hooked on right now, which is basically the same ones you listed :D (+ her of course. :p )

Somebody smack this guy....no, I'll do it myself *WHAP* No. Don't get Bose anything as like Monster you are paying for the name, and typically not even on-par quality,

Get HD595's and don't even look into buying headphones again. There's a reason "Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about you wallet!" to newbies on Head-Fi...it gets damn expensive! I've now spent $1124 in the month I've been a member there...

Oh, and just to add, I own the AKG K701's, Grado SR225's, ATH-A900's, Senn HD595's and the Beyer DT770-80's and I find myself gaming with only the Beyer's as the bass is amazing and even unamped they sound great. Some my tell you that you NEED an amp for them but they are only 80 ohm which a portable player or computer headphone jack can handle just fine.

I agree... stay away from the Bose cans.

and btw...oc titan... if you feel that you have too many headphones and you don't use them I'll give you my shipping address :D I've only been a member of head-fi for a couple weeks and I've already spent a few hundred. nothing great, just some lower line cans for portable us and just to hear (my sister's headphones broke) and then my senn hd595's
Senn HD202, ATH FC7, Senn HD595, Senn PMX200 (already had) and a Little Dot Micro+ headphone amp. Then a Grado headphone adapter and I'll end up getting some mini cables sometime soon. lol

Ahh.. xyphox, you're making me jealous :D

Glad it turned out great.. I can't wait to get the DT770's or HD595..

and lets not bash xyphox anymore for his past affliction with Bose ;)
