I dont get this, seems like a solution in search of a problem. Stuff half your PSU in a place with no airflow, and the main part will not work at all without this secondary piece. It also take up more room and can not be used in any SSF cases. It will likely go on the e-waste pile with BTX boards.

I don't blame Seasonic. Their Prime series is already at like the best efficiency levels and build quality possible. I don't think increased efficiency is possible much beyond Titanium at this point. They literally have nothing else to do to improve their products, and the seasonic prime's will last decades. They are just trying to release something that is different enough that people might side-grade and waste money on. If you're dumb enough to get this over a Prime Titanium so be it. Maybe you have a specific build that this might work better in, although I doubt it..

On the bright side, you'll probably be able to buy a broke one on ebay and make your own breakout box.
