What are the thread and length specifications for different sizes of HDDs and SSDs? I know that one of those specs is 6-32.
 
See SFF-8301 and SFF-8201. For 3.5" drives max penetration is 3.5mm, and for 2.5" drives it's 2mm, 2.5mm, or 3mm, depending on hole position and drive thickness.

Many drives permit greater than this, at least for some holes. It's a good idea to check the data sheet for your drive.
