Scientists Create Glow-In-The-Dark Dog

In before "Why do South Korean's need glow-in-the-dark puppies? So they can find a late-night snack"

Can some tell me why we need to create all these glow in the dark critters? Aside from the late night snack joke above:)
I mean sure it might be nice to have the dog glow in the dark if it gets loose at night and a car can see it easier to avoid. I mean if there going to make animals that glow it's deer they should be making glow not dogs. But beyond that it sure seems like a waste of time and money.

I blame Science Cat.

It's a "proof of concept" that shows that the scientists have taken a gene from one animal (jellyfish) and inserted it into another animal.

And I, for one, welcome our new fluorescent green canine overlords.

Honestly, I wonder how long it takes that process to become a cosmetic augmentation humans seek out.

Be the first on your block to own a glowing dog. Great for Halloween! :p

Uh hang on a minute. Ultraviolet light = black light. We all know the effect of a black light.

I imagine one of these would scare the shit out of superstitious burglars...

It's all cool and fun until we create a new cross-species disease that kills us all. Especially with the human-animal hybrids labs have been "toying" with.
